My world is changing / I'm rearranging
Today has just been…I don’t even know. We had a two hour delay this morning for school, thanks to the gigantic thunderstorm that blew through early this morning. So classes were shorter, which was lovely. And there are about 20 French exchange students here, and I keep hearing French in the hallways and classrooms. Nikita is hosting one of them, and she’s lovely. So class was all...

We love you Liverpool, we do. But mostly in our...
And our defensive woes continue.
The trouble all along, aside from Hodgson’s batshit insane tactics in the first half of the season, has been our central defense, I think. If we break it down:
Carra: solid defender when he is on form, but aging. The same old tackle-and-hoof routine.
Agger: again, solid in the center, but he’s proven rather fragile this season. How many matches has...
Ah, Liverpool. Demonstrating Murphy’s Law once again.
We look like shit, we really do. Suarez has been barely visible. Gerrard’s not doing anything. Hoofing balls from the back, making stupid passes in midfield, etc., etc.
And we’ve lost Kelly.
Oh no. Oh no.
Kelly.
Oh my. This does not look good at all. I hope he’s not out for too long. We need him.

be prepared for your eyeballs to bleed, but here is my AP English poem
SHIT MAN I NEED A TITLE That afternoon in the library, when the humidity smashed one hundred and the sidewalks hissed with the weight of the city. They didn’t have the poetry book I wanted—did you read poetry? I hope so, how could you call any of this by name without poetry— and we didn’t want answers. Six hundred thousand...
I wrote my poem for English.
oh my god
what am I doing
it’s so bad/way too personal
Nikita, you are going to laugh. And then cry. And then ask me why I ever write anything.
But why even do you use the English language?

WAIT WHEEERRREE CAN YOU FIND THESE EXCHANGE STUDENTS???
My Spanish teacher has a former student who is teaching English in Spain right now and knows of a few students who want to come to the States for a few weeks this summer. It’s not through school or anything—they’re just coming and want to stay with someone.
I have been...
HOLY GUACAMOLE
I MIGHT BE GETTING 2 EXCHANGE STUDENTS FROM SPAIN THIS SUMMER

THIS IS ALL I WANT IN LIFE
this AP English stuff is forever long
And of course I’m analyzing “The Death of the Ball Turret Gunner,” which I’m sure has some ~deeper meaning. I’m too tired to understand it right now.
I like poetry. I just hate analyzing poetry I don’t like.
Also, our poem drafts are due Friday and mine is such shit that I cannot even look at it right now. I’ve kind of Frankensteined together some stuff...
DAMN IT
Victor Valdes out
Puyol STILL out
Alves suspended
and now Xavi has a calf injury that will take him out for 7-10 days, meaning he misses Mallorca and Valencia
If you’d like to keep up with what’s going on in Libya and the Middle East, I highly recommend Al Jazeera’s English-language channel. Streaming online at http://english.aljazeera.net/watch_now/.
They’ve had fantastic, up-to-date, accurate coverage of the unrest since the very beginning—it’s great journalism at a moment when we very much need it.

LANDON DONOVAN IS GETTING A TUMBLR
He is such a troll on Twitter. This is going to be good.
so glad you guys liked the .gif
because truthfully, my only reason for making that post was so I could use it
Tournament today. Yikes. Lost 3 games, won one, and in the last one their left forward kept tripping me as I was carrying the ball out of the circle. My knee looks and feels like it’s been hit with a battering ram.
Didn’t get to a lot of the homework I was trying to get ahead on.
Tired, hungry, not wanting to do this AP English work, etc.
Barcelona won, THANK GOD. Though Schalke...
This food diary app is working really well. I’ve been under 1400 calories each day, recorded every single thing I ate, and exercised every day. After my gym foray this morning, I’m at -124 net calories for today (500ish at the gym, coffee/milk/cereal for breakfast, and some low-fat yogurt and a banana just now).
Apparently I’m on track to lose 10 pounds in about 6-8 weeks, which...

Ick.
Kind of slimy weather outside after a lovely day yesterday.
I came home and completely lost it, food-wise. I’ve been doing so well with my eating this week—under 1400 net calories each day—logging it on my iPhone app and not cheating. And yet I was so hungry this afternoon, so I had a banana, a bowl of dry cereal, and a little bit of leftover pasta, which completely ruined my...

“Tonight I am going to bathe in cules’ tears”?
Well done, Arsenal. Congratulations. You deserved the win. You beat the team many consider the best in the world. It’s a big deal. I understand why people are posting about their glee at beating us. They have every right to do that. But can they stop acting like we’re the devil?...
Well.
That was unpleasant.
All credit to Arsenal, however. They played very well.
(I am trying so hard to remain calm and polite here.)
We can do it. Second leg in the Camp Nou.
This match unearthed some of the deeper problems I’ve been worried about. Not going to post about them right now because I don’t have time, but it’s unsettling, to say the least. Also. Puyol needs to come...

Saving our asses…and getting carded.
Man. I don’t know. Arsenal look good. RVP has been shit, but Fábregas, Wilshere, Nasri…
We’re not getting off good shots. Shaky defense. Messi has been mortal.

Oh, don’t worry, I’m expecting this to last a week, tops. Then I’ll be back to my old ways.
Apparently 1.5 hours of field hockey = 800+ calories? Idk, man. I recorded 65 minutes because I highly doubt I got that much exercise at practice...

In other news, I have to finish this stupid RASAR. Farewell for now.

Jared, I don’t often say this, but I agree with you on this one

I love The Things They Carried, and I’m so glad we’re reading it in class, but analytical writing sucks.
Running.
Oh, my love-hate relationship with running.
On one hand, it’s great exercise. I feel so much better about myself after a run, especially if it’s a hard one, or one I haven’t been able to complete before. There’s a beautiful park right near my house with a loop that’s a little under 3 miles, and I usually run that. Trail running is also badass. It’s a million...
