35 on the ACT!
That’s what I had when I took it in December, so I guess taking it again was kind of pointless. I was hoping for a perfect score, but eh, I’ll take it.

In case you didn’t know, Shakira is dating Gerard Piqué, a defender who plays for Barcelona. Real Madrid, Barca’s rivals, frequently play Shakira’s music before matches in their stadium, the Santiago Bernabéu. (Damn, I just looked at Sid...

swallowingmatches replied to your photo: after giving up sweets for Lent, I have been… Nutella doesn’t count as “sweets”. It’s like peanut butter… for argument’s sake, at least. yeah—for all intents and purposes, it’s not that different from PB (or honey, for that matter). it’s just a little toooo close to chocolate for my comfort. I might be cracking on that front soon,...

I was tutoring some freshmen today
in Spanish, and they were translating part of Don Quijote into English (it was an “adapted” version—the text was really simplified). They complained the whole time, and after they finished one of them asked me, “What’s the point of reading such a stupid story?” I mean, it’s only the most famous novel written by a Spanish author and one of the greatest...

this is kind of sad, but
when I really love a poem—like, can’t stop reading it, want to have it with me at all times, would marry it if I could—I take a picture of it with my phone so I can read it no matter where I am. It just makes me feel better to know that I can always pull out my phone and read my favorite poems. A security blanket of sorts. (also, this is even sadder, but I loved Siken’s...

Welp.
I visited Kenyon yesterday for the second time and liked it 238592592835928 more times than before. The hockey coach is wonderful, and so are the players. After looking at their average ACT/SAT scores and high school GPA, I think I can definitely get in. And hopefully score some major scholarship $$$, because as of right now, their yearly tuition is $55,000. There’s National Merit $, if...

today has just been shit
My allergies are horrendous right now, and I keep sneezing explosively, causing everyone in the vicinity to look on with a mixture of sympathy and disgust. It was 75 and sunny yesterday, and today it’s 45 and rainy. I feel guilty for not exercising, especially since I’m going on a college visit tomorrow and won’t be able to run on Friday or Saturday, but I can’t breathe...

I’ve finished all my homework. It’s barely 10 P.M. also also you guys what is it with me and ~hipster~ players from clubs I hate first of all, there is Esteban Granero, a Ray Ban-wearing psychology student moonlighting as a footballer for Real Madrid and now, there is Mats Hummels, who plays for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga. I support Schalke, who are Dortmund’s...

I am so tired. So tired.
And I want chocolate now. I’m so tired of eating slices of bread with honey on them, which has been my solution to any cravings for sweets during Lent. And APUSH can go cliff itself, seriously. I read all five chapters again tonight to review, and I cannot function right now. Liverpool: please, please win tomorrow. I am coming home and doing my Spanish flashcards while watching the match,...

I've been tutoring this freshman in math
and today I found out that his family is from Spain (his mom from Alicante, and his dad from Malaga). I knew Spanish was his first language, but I didn’t know that he was from Spain. Basically, my response was because I am so ridiculously in love with that country. And now all I want to do is talk about Spain with him instead of explaining matrices.
