I’ve just been in a really good mood lately, and I’m not sure why.
Miranda came by today to go for a run, which was fantastic because the weather was so nice. 60 and sunny—the perfect running weather. Not too hot, not too cold, and I can actually breathe because it’s not allergy season yet.
And I haven’t been procrastinating, actually. I’ve done all my work...

that incredibly annoying moment when
you’re reading something and really really want to write down a favorite line or make a note on the text or just write something, anything, about what you’re reading
and you CAN’T DO IT because it’s a library book or a school-issued copy or whatever
but you don’t have a notebook handy, or it isn’t the right notebook because it’s important that you use...

we qualified for NIT! and won the qualifier!
played 8 games today; woke up at 5:15 A.M.; Tess of the D’Urbervilles just got really disturbing really fast; Arsenal and Spurs both lost; it’s a red week; I have not even touched the piano since my last lesson; my entire body hurts

last night I had a dream that recreated the end of...
and followed the sequence of events almost exactly, even switching POVs like in the book. Which was awesome, because I was in the battle at King’s Landing with Tyrion and Davos and the Hound, but also with Sansa and Cersei, and then with Jon Snow in the North. (Sadly, there was nothing about Dany in Quorth.)
But the most awesome part, hands-down, was when it switched to Bran, who was having...

rebreakah asked: Hi Shea, will you give me some good poetry to read? I enjoy reading it but I'm not very knowledgeable in terms of authors and whatnot.
saythatyoullstay replied to your post: a question for you dear shea: the Downton Christmas Special that aired - does it belong to season 1 or season 2? or are there separate christmas specials that aired for each respective season?
oh my goodness i don’t even think there was a reply to be made to the three messages of excited crazed rambling obsession… girl i am on the train and i don’t...

Reichenbach Falls, aka a much-anticipated hour and...
Somehow I ended up going to see Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows tonight at the theater, and spent the entire movie impatiently waiting for the credits to roll so I could go home and watch the series 2 finale of the BBC’s Sherlock. (Interestingly, the film version is adapted from The Final Problem, aka the Reichenbach Falls story that tonight’s episode of the BBC version retells, so...

VERY IMPORTANT NEWS: Morning Edition tweeted me last night.
(Morning Edition coffee mug, multiple All Things Considered t-shirts, NPR bumper sticker on my car, Terry Gross devotee, etc. Public radio fangirl here.
Also, I am aware that it’s fairly depressing that this was the highlight of my week.)

there is no better feeling
than coming home after an endless day to drink Lady Grey and read a book.

owenparsons:
Perhaps this has happened to you:
You are having a pleasant conversation with a friend when the topic suddenly veers towards something that, while utterly obscure, is a treasured subject of obsession for you. Perhaps someone brings up the franchise history of the Los Angeles Dodgers, or famously-snubbed Oscar nominees, or the diverse moons of Jupiter, or Batman.
Abruptly, your...
