I’ve just been in a really good mood lately, and I’m not sure why.
Miranda came by today to go for a run, which was fantastic because the weather was so nice. 60 and sunny—the perfect running weather. Not too hot, not too cold, and I can actually breathe because it’s not allergy season yet.
And I haven’t been procrastinating, actually. I’ve done all my work for tomorrow and the next day, and aside from the Presidential Scholars app due next month, I’m caught up with everything for college and scholarships. I’ve been working out and running several times a week in addition to hockey practices. Speaking of practice, I’ve been playing well, and we’re going to NIT as a team in the top pool. Next week I’ll be in Florida for a tournament, just enjoying the weather and the fact that I’m a senior and don’t need to worry about college coaches watching me: I’ve applied to all my schools, I’ve received offers to play, and the coaches who are coming to watch me know who I am and have seen me play already.
But it’s more than that. I think I’ve simply been making more time for the things I want to do—which sometimes involves watching football all morning, or sleeping until 9 (which is late for me), or reading mindless books, or needlepointing on a Friday night, or taking a nap in my aiding block instead of getting ahead on my work. I feel less stress right now (save AP Calc, OH MY GOD the stress in that class will never decrease). Which feels good.
